FRIDAY 24TH APRIL 12.30 - 4.00PM MODERN SLAVERY AWARENESS AND ACTION The key note speaker will be one of the world’s leading experts in this field; the former UK Anti-Slavery Commissioner, and current member of Council of Europe Panel of Experts: Kevin Hyland OBE.
This event is for third sector organisations and community groups who are active in the counties of Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy, working with children and families, young people and vulnerable adults, as well as with migrants, refugees and others who may be at risk of exploitation. We are also expecting colleagues from Ireland to join us, to share their experiences too.
The purpose of the event is to provide current information and facts about modern slavery and human trafficking, including forced labour, sexual exploitation, illegal trafficking across the Irish Sea, county lines and cuckooing, among other forms that this crime takes.
We will be joined by experts who will provide specific details for discussion and questions, and there will be plenty of time to talk, share and learn with colleagues to give us all a better understanding of what we can do within our communities to prevent exploitation and care for those who have been affected.
